Felt Crafts for Kids
Start your felt crafts for kids by making a pretty little felt purse. Make Your Own Mini Felt PurseStart your felt crafts by making a pretty little felt purse with just a small piece of felt, coloured sewing or embroidery thread and a scrap of ribbon. This would make an ideal gift for Mother's Day or perhaps for a special friend's birthday. Great for holding coins, earrings and small jewellery or other little treasures too! You will need: Follow these simple instructions to make your mini purse: Cut a piece of felt approximately 20cm x 9cm. Cut one of the short ends into a point to make the flap of the purse. Fold up just over one third of the length of the felt to form the pocket of the purse and stitch up the sides using a contrasting embroidery thread and a simple running stitch. Stitch around the flap in the same way to decorate - see picture. Make a fastening for your purse by stitching on a snap fastener with sewing thread. Stitch one half of the fastener to the inside of the flap and the other half to the corresponding point on the front of the purse under the flap. Make a small bow from a scrap of contrasting narrow ribbon and stitch to the front of the flap as shown.
