Butterfly Crafts for Kids

We all love butterflies, so I hope you'll enjoy my butterfly crafts for kids.

I've created some flower and butterfly bookmarks that are so easy to make.

Then there's a join-the-dots picture to create your own butterfly.

Add your own beautiful design to its wings and let it take flight.

So, let's start with the ...

Flower and Butterfly Bookmarks

You will need:

  • Thin card or foam in assorted colours

  • Foam or paper flower, butterfly or insect shapes, stickers or small pictures cut from old magazines

  • Pencil, ruler, scissors and glue

  • Felt-tip pens or colouring pencils

  • Rubber stamps and inkpad (optional)

Here's how to make them....

  1. For each bookmark, measure and cut a strip of card or foam approximately 23cm by 4cm.

  2. Decorate by sticking on foam or paper flower, butterfly or insect shapes or stickers or use small pictures cut from an old magazine.

  3. Alternatively, draw and colour your own designs onto white or light-coloured card or create designs with rubber stamps, if you have them, and then colour them in.

Flower and Butterfly Bookmarks

Your unique handmade bookmarks will make ideal little gifts for your family and friends.

Butterfly Dot-to-Dot

Here's a pdf file you can use.

What's a pdf file?
A pdf file is just a type of computer file (like a Word doc file) that requires a particular computer program (like Microsoft Word) to be able to view it.

However, the good news is that the computer program you require - Adobe Acrobat Reader - is free and is pre-installed on all new computers. But, even if you have an older computer and don't have this program installed on your computer already, you can download it here for free right now from the Adobe website.

Join the dots to draw a butterfly and then colour or paint it in beautiful bright summer colours.
